This created an enormous level of excitement due to the fact that now other software applications and widgets could reside within the Facebook service. New Media Consultant and Technology Entrepreneur, Rodney Rumford, immediately sensed there would be a great need for an objective service to rate and review the deluge of new applications as they become available on the Facebook Web site. He immediately launched www.FaceReviews.com as a destination blog site that publishes ratings and reviews of the new software applications and widgets available on Facebook.

Additionally, because so many people expect video online and people consume content in different media formats, Facereviews.com has decided to embrace video and will also be including video reviews of these applications as well. "People are responding very positively to the videos," said Rumford. "We will use YouTube to deliver all of our videos so users can watch the videos on our blog site or find them on YouTube by simply searching for Facereviews."
The FaceReviews.com blog site has already received very positive feedback and traffic in the few days it has been live. "The need for this service exists on a huge scale," said Rumford. "We have done reviews of widgets such as the Amazon Book Reviews widget, which allows users to rate and review books from Amazon and see which books their friends are reading along with their reviews. I know that I would trust my friends' reviews of a book over an anonymous reviewer. That is the power of what this platform can do; provide social context to content".
Some points of note according to Rumford: "Some of the new facebook applications have surged in popularity such as the movies flixster application which has received more than 645,000 users in less than two weeks. Many businesses will come to understand the power of the Facebook f8 Platform and community and create useful applications; others will choose to sit out of the game... until they get it."
Rumford is currently overseeing two major application integrations to the Facebook platform for clients. www.FaceReviews.com has already published ratings, reviews and videos on the following facebook widgets and software applications in the first week: book reviews, flixster, twitter, box, graffiti, games, Slideshare by Slide, and 30 boxes. They aim to review several new applications and widgets that are on facebook each week.
