Big Five Launches New Program to Southern China, Including Hong Kong

The 13-day, Landscapes of Southern China travel itinerary originates in feverishly busy Shanghai and ends in Hong Kong. In between, guests travel to Zhujiajiao, a well-preserved ancient town on the lower Yangtze River; Lijiang, an old city of ethnic minorities, especially the Naxi; and Guilin, a scenic city on the poetic Li River. They take in Longsheng and some of the most breathtaking landscapes such as the immense 'Dragon's Backbone' rice terraces. Traveling to Kunming, visitors explore the dramatic Stone Forest.

Travelers savor rich cultural encounters that include a bicycle tour of the charming town of Yangshuo, where visitors pedal leisurely to Moon Hill for tea at a local farm; and an exploration of Longsheng, a region rich in the traditions of the many ethnic minorities such as Miao, Zhuang, Yao and Dong. The villages and towns have retained many traditional ways of life. Visitors enjoy a unique hair show by local minority women, well known for their extraordinarily long and beautiful hair.
The Southern China tour concludes in modern Hong Kong, with its eccentric blend of Chinese heritage with British colonial nuances and modern commercialism. It is home to two worlds - dynamic, international commercial areas coexist with traditional, tiny lanes teeming with shops and cafes.
The 13-day Landscapes of Southern China starts at $6,750 per person, double occupancy, and covers land arrangements only, which includes internal China flights as specified in the itinerary; all hotel taxes and service charges; meals as indicated, hotel/airport transfers; and all sightseeing as indicated.
