What to Pack When Travelling to China
To know what you need to pack for a trip to China, find out what the season is over there. While China is hot in the summer, it can be very cold in the winter. Warm clothes made from down are essential along with gloves, woollen hats and scarves. Sunglasses, sunscreen and summer hat are essentials in the summer.
Casual clothes and joggers will be the most comfortable, though you may want one or two more formal outfits for gala occasions. Rain gear will be handy too. Take a basic first-aid kit with band-aids, antibiotic cream, anti-histamine, aspirin or paracetamol and tablets for dysentery, diarrhoea and indigestion. If you are on any medication, take a good supply of that with you.
You'll also need certain documents such as passport, travel visa, identity card, plane tickets and hotel reservations and other admission tickets. Write down home phone numbers (of relatives and friends) that can be contacted in case of emergency and add a notebook, phrasebook and pen. It's a good idea to write all your personal information on a coloured card Keep all these in a weatherproof bag somewhere that can be accessed readily. A Chinese phrase booklet can come in useful, particularly in emergencies. It's also helpful to learn a bit of Mandarin Chinese before the trip.
If you are backpacking, remember that you can buy many of your daily needs like soap and toilet rolls in China, so travel light and enjoy it.

Investing In China: Chinese Banks
China?s banking sector has traditionally served as a party-controlled feeding trough for its inefficient, unprofitable state-owned enterprises (SOEs), most of which were technically insolvent. The process was simple ? extend a loan to an unqualified SOE applicant, then write off the loan as a bad debt when it failed to repay. This situation is beginning to change, and Chinese banks are attracting the attention of foreign banks that are beginning to view them as investment opportunities rather than potential competitors. Nevertheless, China?s banking industry is beset by several problems.

The current measurement of this defensive wall, which stretches across northern China from east to west, is 7300 kilometers (4300 miles).
