Virginia Western Community College Selects Trump University's Entrepreneurship Courses for Workforce Development Program
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 1, 2008 -- Trump University's Ivy League entrepreneurship courses (http://www.trumpuniversity.com/entrepreneurship/index.cfm) become part of Virginia Western Community College's Workforce Development Services "Learn Connect" training. The addition is in response to Virginia's local economic development programs focused on the growth of new businesses.
During 2007 Virginia Western received a grant to develop an entrepreneurship program as part of its Workforce Development Services "Learn Connect" training which provides online training and customized training to local businesses, industries, and government in Virginia. Students completing the entrepreneurship courses through Virginia Western Community College and decide to locate their start-up business within the City of Roanoke's entrepreneurship district will be eligible for incentives such as grants for additional training, reduced cost for office supplies, legal, and accounting services. In addition the entrepreneur district could potential offer financial backing and shared cost(s) for administrative support for one of more business in a certain area.
On May 29, 2008 Virginia Western will join officials from the City of Roanoke, Roanoke County, Virginia Department of Business Assistance and the Roanoke Valley Chamber of Commerce Small Business Development Center to host the third Entrepreneur Express. The one-day event held on campus will provide information for entrepreneurs including mini entrepreneurship seminars and an overview of Trump University's entrepreneurship e-courses (http://www.trumpuniversity.com/entrepreneurship/index.cfm) and other resources available to the business owners.
"Trump University's entrepreneurship courses will allow our citizens to learn how to build a new business from the world's most successful entrepreneurs and business leaders," said Dr. Chuck Terrell, Vice President of Workforce Development Services at Virginia Western Community College. "Through the formation of these new businesses, not only will our citizens prosper but our local economy will grow and become stronger," he added.
