The idea was born in NYC in 2001, and reborn in Phoenix in 2005 with a small group of women, that in three years, has grown into 7 official chapters and 5000 women (online and offline combined) . "The social chapters are only one way we spread the message about how important it is for busy women to take me time in their lives," states founder/CEO Dena Patton. CCC hopes to inspire 'Super Women' to slow down, enjoy some chocolate, sip delicious wine, connect with others and enjoy Me Time. CCC has captured the opportunity not only to provide fun and connect ladies, but also to be the #1 advocate for Me Time given that Heart disease is the number one killer of women, along with countless other diseases and sicknesses that are caused by the stress and pressure of being a Super Woman. "Making a transformation from being an exhausted Super Woman to becoming a Well-Balanced Super Woman (the title of Patton's first book) doesn't have to be hard, it just takes consistent messages and a forum to practice it, and CCC does that effectively through their website and live events," explains Patton. Today, the company has established solid roots that have big dreams to become a solution to the 'Me Time' dilemma for millions of busy women. The company is launching a new website in June 2008 that will fulfill on the many requests to be able to connect to other fabulous CCC women worldwide, in addition to access to CCC's line of inspirational merchandise, and most importantly online tools for women to find other local CCC women for live chocolate and chatting. CCC believes that when you have connection time with other women, along with having the much needed "me" time then everything becomes possible and you can take on your daily roles with new strength and enthusiasm.
Patton was inspired to create this inspirational social club in 2001 through the lessons of three epic events that happened in her life while living in NYC: first, at the age of 26 she experienced a minor stroke and quickly learned that Me Time had to take priority above her busy NYC lifestyle (running a PR and publishing company). Secondly, she trained as a life/business coach (after the stroke) and in the last 8 years many of her "Super Women" clients stated that they were desperate for me time in their lives. Thirdly, the tragedy of 9/11 was another eye opener that got people present to themselves, their well-being and their quality of life.
Currently the company has 7 chapters and soon will have approximately 50 nationally. The chapters offer chocolate, wine and girl time along with plenty of inspirational conversations that make for a great evening free of to-do lists, errands and duties. The monthly event is specifically designed to provide a place for women to take time off from their various life roles--i.e. mom, wife, employee, sister, PTA, or business owner--so they can be themselves, or "fabulous women," as Chat, Chew & Chocolate promotes.
