3 Steps to Getting More Blog Traffic

Anybody can create blog quickly and easily with all the blog creation tools available today. But once your blog is created, getting traffic to the blog is another issue entirely. 1. Add Fresh Content on a Regular Basis

Many new bloggers make the mistake of creating a blog, making the first post and then forgetting about it. Especially at the beginning, your blog needs constant attention in terms of making new posts. Why would anyone want to visit a blog if new posts are made infrequently? Its best post once per day or at least every other day for the first month.

You should post on a regular basis so your visitor and the search engines know to expect new content added to your blog on a regular basis. As long as your posts are informative or entertaining, you'll attract more visitors over time. And you want the search engines to come regularly to index your blog posts which in turn will attract even more visitors.

2. Find Related Blogs and Make Useful Comments

Another effective method for driving traffic to a blog is to find related blogs and make useful comments. Considering the number of blogs on the Internet these days, you shouldn't have much trouble finding blogs on topics related to yours. The higher the PR of the blog the better since you'll be getting a link in exchange for leaving a comment.

When you find a new blog take a few minutes to read a few posts. Since it's a topic similar to your blog, you shouldn't have any trouble making a useful comment to one of the posts. Leave your name and a link to your blog with the comment. You'll notice that some readers will like your comment and want to click your link and visit your blog.

3. RSS

The third way to drive traffic to your blog is by building a list of loyal readers. It's very similar to building a list from a squeeze page. Many autoresponder services have the capability to send a notification by email to your subscribers whenever you make a new post to your blog. This is an effective way to provide people who've asked with a friendly reminder to visit your blog and read a new post.

RSS works very similar to an opt-in list. You just put a simple form on your blog and allow visitors to provide their name and an email address.
