Writers Flock to New Online Community Where They Can 'Show & Tell'

Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) November 9, 2006 -- Writers from all walks of life finally have a place to call their home on the Web.

Since conducting a 'soft launch' in August, Xomba.com has signed up more than 2,500 members in its online community, but there's room for more. From aspiring writers to seasoned professionals, Xomba is the place where writers meet, share ideas and just simply have fun writing. Xomba offers experienced writers an exciting opportunity to get paid for their work as well.

"We are the premier online community for writers," said Founder Nick Veneris. "Whether a writer is experienced or wants to try their hand at writing for the first time, this is the place on the Internet to do just that. And after a writer feels they are ready to move on to the next level, they can earn money for their craft."

Xomba offers a unique model for paying members of its online writing community. Writers who want to get paid, which is voluntary, must sign up for a Google Adsense account. Google Adsense delivers free targeted ads to members' writings, which are called Xombytes, and pays you directly when readers click on them. Xomba automatically rotates ownership of the ads so revenue can be split on a 50/50 basis.

Currently, Xomba offers 45 categories from which to post members' writing. The Fiction and Poetry category currently has more entries than any other section. Other popular categories include Arts, Family & Home, and Religion & Beliefs. Whether writers are looking to start a blog, write 'How To' articles or share the poems they've been writing for years, Xomba is the place to start.

Using the slogan "Show and Tell Has Never Been So Rewarding," Xomba also allows its members to interact, share writing tips and critique each other's works in a constructive manner. "The overall goal is to build an online community of people who simply love to write," said Veneris.

About Xomba
Launched in August 2006, Xomba's mission is to create a thriving community of Xombees who earn profit from their work. We recognize there are numerous sites allowing individuals the chance to publish their original content, but keep all of the ad revenue. To us, this seems like an archaic practice that has given way to the continuing advancements of Web 2.0. Combining key elements from social networking sites, weblogs and contextual targeted advertising, we have created a community that is a nurturing environment for anyone willing to post and share their own ideas. It is our hope that our Xombees will develop into successful contributors to the publishing industry. For more information on Xomba, go to www.xomba.com or 888-873-7039.

Investing In China: Chinese Banks
China?s banking sector has traditionally served as a party-controlled feeding trough for its inefficient, unprofitable state-owned enterprises (SOEs), most of which were technically insolvent. The process was simple ? extend a loan to an unqualified SOE applicant, then write off the loan as a bad debt when it failed to repay. This situation is beginning to change, and Chinese banks are attracting the attention of foreign banks that are beginning to view them as investment opportunities rather than potential competitors. Nevertheless, China?s banking industry is beset by several problems.
