Internet Radio Pioneer Launches Second Blog Aimed at Helping Podcasters PodcastGearGuy.com Reviews Latest Equipment
Gig Harbor, WA (PRWeb) December 12, 2006 -- Internet radio pioneer Scott Bourne,, announces the launch of PodcastGearGuy.com, a free blog that offers reviews and purchasing advice for people who want to record professional audio.
Twice each week, Bourne reviews the latest gear, discusses its application, and shares his buying recommendations with his audience. The blog (www.podcastgearguy.com) is aimed at people who want to record profession audio for podcasting or any other application.
"There are always ten reasons to buy new gear, and the first nine are lust," says Bourne. "I want to make sure that last factor people rely on is based on solid advice from someone who uses and understands this equipment."
Bourne has already reviewed more than 30 pieces of podcasting gear on the blog during its six-week beta period. Review categories include computer hardware, interfaces, books, headphones, microphones, processors, recorders, production music/SFX, software and sound reinforcement.
All of Bourne's recommendations are unbiased. No equipment manufacturer is allowed to sponsor the blog. Broadcast Supply Worldwide, one of the largest professional audio resellers in America is a sponsor and Bourne has arranged for his readers to get a discount at BSW if they wish to order there.
"If I think there's a problem with a certain piece of gear, I can say so, since none of the manufacturers are involved in the site. I even review some gear not sold by BSW. It's up to me what gets profiled and BSW has been great to deal with, making sure that I get all the support I need to access gear, but no pressure to push certain items," said Bourne.
Readers at the blog can subscribe free of charge via RSS, and do not have to identify themselves, give up an e-mail address or register for access to the site.
The blog is a service of the Bourne Media Group, a podcasting production and consulting firm based in the Seattle area. For more information go to www.podcastingtricks.com or www.bournemediagroup.com. Information is also available by telephone at 253-851-5542.
